I am so excited to officially be a part of the staff at Loudon Elementary School! This is my twenty-first year as a teacher and my second year at LES. I started my career as a Bilingual Teacher working with students over the course of 8 years in the second, third, and fourth grades. Then I worked in Special Education as an Educational Diagnostician for three years serving kids ages 3-18. Finally, I have spent the last 10 years, prior to moving to Tennessee, working at Children’s Hospital Colorado as a Learning Specialist in their Audiology, Speech and Learning Department where we specialized in assessing and treating children of all ages with learning differences.
I loved school as a child and have fond memories of all my teachers. One of the teachers that I will always remember is Mrs. Rowntree. She taught Spanish at the Middle School and at the High School. Mrs. Rowntree promised to take us to Costa Rica on an immersive learning experience if we made it to Spanish 5. This opportunity ignited the passion that I have now for working with multilingual students.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, and practicing yoga. I also love watching college football. Gig ‘em Aggies!
I am looking forward to another great year here at Loudon Elementary School!
