About Me

Welcome to fifth grade! I'm so excited to be teaching math and science at LES this year. I was previously a fifth and sixth grade science teacher at Celina K-8 and an academic TA at Coulter Grove Intermediate School. I have also worked at the Blount County Friends program, Maryville City Adventure Club, and I do private tutoring in the core subjects at all grade levels. Working with children and spreading a love of knowledge is my passion. I hope to help grow lifelong learners, spread curiosity, and guide students to understanding themselves and the world around them at a deeper level.
Much of my personal life revolves around education too. My husband teaches social studies at Heritage High School and my step-son is in ninth grade at Loudon County High School. Most of my friends are teachers as well. If I'm not doing something involved with learning, I'm trying to spend time with family, hanging out with animals, traveling, exploring nature, reading, or playing games.
Aside from education, one of my biggest loves in life is working with animals. I currently have three wonderful pets of my own: Van Geaux (gray tabby), Cinnamon (Syrian hamster), and Sunlight (orange tabby). I have previously rehabilitated animals and have had more pets than I can count over the years. Please tell me your pet and animal stories!!!
