I graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Studies. I continued my education and received my Master's degree in 2008 in Instructional Leadership.
I began teaching at LES in August 2008. I am so excited that 2019-2020 will begin my 12th year of teaching at Loudon Elementary School. I have taught in both 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms, and am excited that this year I will be teaching 3rd grade math and science.
One thing I remember most about being in elementary school was listening to my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Hampton, read aloud, "James and the Giant Peach". I remember the excitement we would all feel when it was finally that time of day where she would let us gather around her on the carpet, and she would continue reading.I think this is when I realized that I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to get my students to love something they never expected to. I want them to enjoy and look forward to something every school day, the way I looked forward to reading about James and his adventures.
