Reading is the key to many adventures, and our children deserve those pleasures. May we always share our love for reading books with every child we meet. Welcome to our LES Library! Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Tunkel will be happy to assist you in finding the perfect books for your reading pleasure. Mrs. Russell has been the librarian at Loudon Elementary School since the year 2000.
I taught for ten years at Steekee School (2nd grade, 3rd grade, and library) before transferring to the LES Library. One of my greatest pleasures is hearing the parent of a student say, “Oh, I remember you Mrs. Russell, you used to be my teacher.”
The most memorable moments of my own education were when teachers would read aloud to the students, yes, even when I was a college student. Those minutes when someone else was reading to me were so enjoyable and relaxing. Do you still recall the feeling of sheer joy when an adult would open a book and begin to read aloud to you?
Another of my absolute greatest pleasures, is reading to my young grandchildren. My husband and I are blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, two sons, several cows, and one adorable granddog. I certainly love traveling to visit my grandbabies,
and most always take them new books to add to their personal collection of library shelves.
