Peyton Finchum and Lily Rose were selected as TNSTRONG Student Ambassadors from the Health and Wellness Club led by Ellie Sexton and Sarah Kile. Peyton attended the statewide training in Franklin, TN. The TNSTRONG is a youth-led, statewide movement committed to raising awareness of the dangers of tobacco and fighting against the tobacco industry's influence on Tennessee youth. Students who apply and are accepted as ambassadors serve for two years, playing an active role within their communities, counties, and statewide. The Health and Wellness club partners with the Tennessee Department of Health and TVA Credit Union to launch campaigns about Nicotine cessation and suicide prevention.

Today, LOCO Construction had their BXTN building competition . This includes a framing, plumbing, and electrical team that competes against 20 other schools to build a room to print in 5 hours. This year we had an all girls framing team . They took home 3rd place and were highly praised by the judges and other male instructors! They built this room with hammer and nails which would be a challenge for anyone. Only a few teams completed the framework but they were the first team to finish.

Don't forget the ACT tomorrow! Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1st, the Seniors will be taking the official ACT retake on the computer here at Loudon High School and Juniors will be taking a practice test on paper. Juniors will need to bring their own calculator if they wish to use it on the practice test. It is vital that Senior students update and turn off their computers completely tonight to ensure their computers update. Students can go to TestNav on their computer to do a practice test as well to ensure it is working properly. Please make sure that Senior and Junior students are at school by 7:45 a.m. and that the Seniors have their computers fully charged. Please have Senior students bring their computer chargers on that day too. Cell phones and smart watches will be prohibited and need to stay out of the building. Once the Seniors and Juniors complete the ACT, they will be dismissed to go home. Sophomores and Freshmen will rotate through different study halls in the morning beginning at 8:15 a.m. This will be a great opportunity to get caught up on any missing work. After lunch, they will remain at school and will be going to their normal classes in a shortened period and will be dismissed as normal at 3:15 p.m. Thank you for your assistance for the October 1st Senior ACT.
