Battle of the Bridge...it's more than a game!!!

Help LHS win the Battle of the Bridge food drive! Students can bring cash, checks, and non-perishable food items to their homeroom teachers beginning Monday, August 18th. Make checks payable to the Good Samaritan Center. As a reminder, $1 equals 5 pounds of food.

New this year, supporters can also donate online by scanning the QR code or visiting this link: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/MLAA7FVGAC6MF/checkout/QXKL6TAZQGMUXZFEOP4M6JBJ?src=webqr

Be sure to include the homeroom teacher's name in the appropriate box at checkout. Donations through the link can begin immediately!

LHS Principal Scott MacKintosh will reward the LES classroom with the most donations with a pizza party! Donations must be turned in to LES by the morning of Thursday, August 28th to count toward classroom totals.

Week 2 in Second Grade! 🎒📚 We dove into reading and math this week and have been working hard every day! Rainy weather brought our first indoor recess, but that didn’t slow us down. We even had a lesson on bus safety today. A huge thank you to Loudon County Schools Transportation for coming to talk to our students. Great things are happening in second grade at LES! ➕📚🚌 #digintolearning #secondgraderocks

We’ve had such a busy and exciting time in 1st grade! 📚✨ We’ve been reviewing our letters and letter sounds, practicing our math skills, enjoying special guest readers, and even acting out some of our favorite stories! 🎭 We’ve celebrated a few wiggly (and missing!) teeth 😁, and when the weather kept us inside, we made the most of our indoor recess. 🌧️ Every day is an adventure in learning, laughing, and growing together! ❤️🍎

The first few days of 1st grade have been a blast! 🎉 We’ve been busy making new friends, learning about each other, reading some fun stories, and even drinking a little “Jitter Juice” to help with the first-day nerves. 💫📚 Our classrooms are already full of smiles, laughter, and lots of friendship bracelets. We can’t wait to see how much we grow together this year! ❤️✨

MORNING AND AFTERNOON CAR LINE PROCEDURES

Morning Drop-Off Procedures
Main Car Line (Available for All K-5 Students):

Enter from Roberts Road, continue past the school, and circle through the main visitor parking lot.

Students may unload anywhere along the covered walkway — please pull forward as far as possible.

Do not wait for the cars in front of you to finish unloading. Unloading four cars at a time speeds up the process.

Secondary Car Line (After 7:45 AM ONLY):

This entrance is for buses only between 7:00–7:45 AM.

After 7:45 AM, parents may:

Turn into the first school entrance from Roberts Road.

Proceed straight to the traffic circle.

Pull forward and unload along the covered walkway.

🚫 Please do not:

Unload students before reaching the covered walkway.

Stop at the corner to unload.

Pulling forward ensures a smooth flow and keeps everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation!

Afternoon Pick-Up Procedures
Main Car Line (Available for All K–5 Students):

Parents may begin lining up at 2:30 PM.

Please do not form a line before 2:30 PM — early arrivals may block bus access.

Enter the line by continuing past the school on Roberts Road, passing both playgrounds, and circling through the main visitor parking lot.

Secondary Car Line (Opens at 2:30 PM with Delayed Movement):

Enter at the first school entrance from Roberts Road.

Drive along the back side of the staff parking lot.

This line will be held at the back lot (marked with a cone and sign) until 2:45 PM to allow special education buses and parents to complete pick-up at Door 35 between 2:30–2:40 PM.

At 2:45 PM, the line may snake through the staff parking lot and proceed around to the front of the school.

🛑 Important Reminders:

Do not use the second entrance from Roberts Road for dismissal. Only the first or last entrance should be used.

Snaking the line through the staff lot helps us fit more cars without blocking traffic.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and efficient dismissal procedures.
