Families, There was some working being done in the visiting girls' locker room which triggered the fire alarm. The fire department quickly responded and gave us an all clear. Students have returned and classes have resumed.

Report Card
Redskin Families, As we approach final exams, We want to make sure you understand the Blue Early Release Form that you either have signed, or will sign in the next day or so. On Friday and Monday, we take finals. 1st and 2nd period finals are from 8:15 to 11:00 on Friday, 12/15, and 5th and 6th period finals are from 8:15 to 11:00 on Monday, 12/18. By signing the form, we assume that you know your child will be able to check out when his or her exams are done for the day. If you DO NOT want them to check out, please let your child know. Once students check out they must leave campus for the day. They will not be allowed to hang out on campus. If you would like them to stay on their regular schedule they certainly can. A select few will be forced to stay if their teacher has told them they will be making up work and missing assignments. Please call us if there is any confusion. We want to make sure you are fully aware of the location of your child at all times. On final exam days, this can sometimes be confusing. Have a great day!!!

Good Friday morning, LHS Families. This morning we had someone report the smell of gas in a classroom. As a precaution, reported it to all of the appropriate people. After response by Loudon Fire, Loudon Police, Loudon County Maintenance, Loudon County Sheriffs Department, Priority Ambulance Service, and Loudon Utilities, it was determined that there is no gas leak and we are all clear. Everything is back to normal and we are going to have a fantastic Friday. We hope you do as well.

Tonight before the Kingston v. Loudon basketball game at Loudon High School, a sprinkler head was hit in the locker room causing the fire alarm to go off. Loudon Fire Department and County Maintenance was able to turn off the water and dry out the locker room. Everything has been cleared to proceed as normal. The basketball game has resumed and school will continue as normal tomorrow. Good luck on English I and II End of Course Testing!

Families, Statewide End of Course testing continues this week. Please note the few changes that have taken place to the testing schedule. Also, please make sure all students manually update their computers and shut it down completely over the break. Students should be able to access TestNav on their computer if it is fully up to date. It is also important that students familiarize themselves with a list of all prohibited items, specifically that not electronic devices besides the student issued computer is allowed in the testing classrooms. A list of all prohibited items can be found on the Tennessee Department of Education website. Best of luck Redskins! If students are not enrolled in one of the state tested courses, they will rotate through their classes and continue working towards mastery in each class.

Senior Parents: All Seniors planning to attend college or a trade school must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Aid) when the form becomes available in late December or early January. To log in to this form a parent and the student must each have a unique FSA ID. Creating an FSA ID takes about 10 minutes, and you need to know your email address and social security number. It takes 3-5 business day to have your FSA ID verified and it must be verified before the FAFSA can be completed. If you have questions, LoudonHigh is sponsoring a drop-in help night on Tuesday, December 12 between 4:00 until 6:45. Please come though the front door.

Instructions on creating an FSA ID
Students wishing to change their spring schedules must complete an add/drop form outside the Guidance Office. This is a reminder that most electives and many academic courses are full. CTE classes must be taken in order. We will not change your schedule just to change your teacher. Students are responsible for checking the master schedule to make sure the class they want is available in the period they want. Adding or dropping an Honors class requires parent permission via a note or email to the counselor. ROTC has a new skinny focusing on leadership that 10th through 12th grade students are eligible to take. Juniors may add Economics and Government to their spring schedule in order to lighten the load senior year. Schedules will not be changed in January.
