What an amazing week in first grade! We worked hard, played hard, learned about the incredible human body, and celebrated our POP ticket winners!

A week filled with friendship awards, pop tickets, presentations, standard algorithm, butterflies, and inflatable horse races=fun times in 5th grade! #fifthgradefun

LES had a fire drill earlier today as part of our annual fire inspection. Our students and staff did an amazing job of exiting the building quickly and quietly and making sure everyone was accounted for once we got outside.

Our cross country team had their second meet today at Liberty Park. Even though it was just our team, it gave the kids extra practice and helped our newest members better know what to expect during a meet. Way to go, runners! We are so proud of your hard work and effort!

First grade is working hard on reading this week!

More fun from the first grade's Fable Olympics!

First grade had the Fables Olympics today. We had games based on our fable stories. They loved connecting the stories to the games and pretending to be some of the characters. It was a great way to end our unit of fables.

Fourth grade had an amazing week of reading, learning to add on, and playing. And we had some superstar Pop Ticket earners!!!

Ms. Stakely’s 4th grade class is working on strengthening their writing. Today, they participated in peer review and editing. Now, they are working on writing their final draft.

LAUNCH cancelled due to parent conferences!!

The LES cross country team had their first meet today at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville. There were over 400 girls and over 400 boys competing. We are so proud of our runners and their performance today! We look forward to seeing their progress this season.

The cat bandit has captured the minds of our second graders! We can't wait to read about what he will do next. This week, we read about how he stole a hot dog, a chicken nugget, and some snack mix. The cat bandit is definitely no ordinary house cat! #secondgraderocks #progressoverperfection

Second graders who came to early registration in July finally got to enjoy their free Kona Ice on Thursday.

Kona Ice came by today to catch up with the kiddos who received their registration day reward! Fourth grade had a great time! #konaice #fabulousfourthgrade

Here's more first graders learning about fables!

First grade has been so busy this week! We learned all about the characteristics of fables and personification, used ourselves in word chains to increase phonemic awareness, and found some time have fun with our friends!
