1. We appreciate the families who are fundraising with us through the Tomahawk Trot! Students can continue to collect money until Friday, October 30th. We are still accepting sponsorships from local businesses and community organizations. Call the school office if you have any questions.
2. We have had struggles with our ice cream vendor and are in the process of changing companies. We hope to have more ice cream for students to purchase later this week.
3. It's that time of year when it's cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. Students often leave their jackets and hoodies on the playground. Please write your child's name inside jackets to help ensure they make it home each day.
4. Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20th is Loudon County's ELL family night. It will be at Fort Loudoun Middle School (1083 Mulberry Street) beginning at 5:30 PM. This is for all English Language Learners.
5. The LES Drama Club is performing in downtown Loudon on Saturday at 3:00 PM. See the flyer for more details.
6. Looking forward - next week is a busy week at LES! We will have dress up days each day next week for Red Ribbon Week. Thursday is Fall in the Hall (4:00-6:00 with the drama club performing at 6:00). Friday is our Tomahawk Trot: Bonus Round. More details will be shared!

Last week, K-5 students became designers, engineers, and creators as they explored 3D pens in STEAM class! For many students, this was their first experience using a 3D pen, and they did an incredible job creating a project to take home.
Students learned important safety procedures, wore protective gloves, and used portable power stations that allowed them to work safely and comfortably from their desks. Along the way, they strengthened fine motor skills, practiced following directions, solved problems, and expressed their creativity through hands-on learning.
We are so proud of our young makers and the determination they showed while bringing their ideas to life! 🌟💡🎨
